I love joining Lisa-Jo and her band of merry word weavers for Five Minute Fridays. Today, we write on “Here”, which leaves itself open to a lot of interpretation. I like that. What’s your take? Give it five minutes and join us at Lisa-Jo’s.
- 1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. Please visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them.
Today’s Prompt: Here

I woke up to rain streaking the window. The sky weighs heavy with gray and I know exactly how the heavens feel. My son asks if I am praying at the kitchen table and I try to think of a way to tell the truth without looking like a heathen.
I stare at facebook on the open laptop. Can I say it was Biblegateway? Probably not.
I feel the water wanting to flow from the inside out. Once again, I disappointed someone. Once again, I made a wrong choice. And I probably should be praying about it, but instead I open up Facebook and think here, here I will find a distraction.
Words of grace pop up on the page. Words that run like honey over a wounded soul. I look up from the table when a streak of light bursts through the clouds. The light is eating the darkness in a corner of the sky. And I feel it cracking wide inside. He found me here anyway.
